Battle of the Eye Primers

Hey guys!!

I have oily eyelids and I struggled when I was younger with my eyeshadows and eyeliner creasing. At the time I never understood why. I went into sephora a couple years ago with my best friend and asked "how can I stop that from happening?" That's when I was introduced to eye primers. My first ever eye primer was the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

I have been testing out 6 different eyelid primers and out of the six only two did not work for me. I decided to do this blog for the people that have that same issue as me and to show you guys what options there are out there in the make up world from drugstore to high end.

I tried the ELF Eyelid Primer, Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer, Mary Kay eye primer, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Isurance, and BareMinerals Prime Time Primer.

I'm going to start off with the one that was the worst one out of all of these. It was the Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer. $4.99

This primer felt really oily to me so that to me wasn't a good sign, but I decided to try it out anyways. After applying it on my eyes and giving it a minute for it to dry it still felt oily. Just as I thought it didn't work out for me at all. My eyeshadows creased big time and even my eyeliner had vanished. That's not a good look after a long day of work.

Next primer is the ELF Eyelid Primer. $1

This primer felt oily as well at first, but when it dries up it doesn't feel oily anymore. It did do the job on the first day of wearing it, but on the second day there was minor creasing. Then a couple days later my eyes teared up cause of my allergies and there was major creasing. I don't think my eyeshadows will survive during the summer time with this primer.

Next primer is the Mary Kay eye primer. $12

The website says its a waterproof formula and that it is suitable for contact lens wears and I thought this was perfect for me. It didn't disappoint me whatsoever. My eyeshadows lasted all day without smudging even with the Texas heat. I highly recommend this one.

Next primer is Urban Decay Primer Potion. $12

I heard about this primer from so many YouTube beauty gurus and I wanted to try it out and see what all the hype was about. I love this primer. I normally wear make up for about 12 hours and it lasted that whole day and made my eyeshadows more vibrant! Another primer I highly recommend.

Next primer is Too Face Shadow Insurance. $20

I used to own this a while ago, but I ran out so I just went to sephora and got a sample. This was my holy grail primer for a long time. My shadows were more vibrant and it survived the heat and humidity and it didn't crease at all. I definitely recommend this.

Lastly, it is the BareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer. $18

I had never heard of this primer anywhere so I was a little hesitant on trying this one. Again I got a sample of this one just because I wasn't sure if I would like this or not and I didn't want to spend any money till after I tried it. I was very impressed with it. My eyeshadows looked vibrant and it didn't crease at all. This one might be new holy grail primer. I highly recommend this.

A primer that I heard that is also amazing is the NARS primer. I can't get myself to spend the money to try it out! I hope this was helpful for you guys. On the primers that I recently tried still need to pass the humidity test during the summer. If anything changes I will make sure that I will keep you updated!

Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss

Hey guys!!! Have you guys heard of  Jaclyn Hill ?? If not you have been missing out. She does the best make-up tutorials and recently she had a brush set with Sigma which I missed out on cause I couldn't afford it at the time. Then she announced she came out with her own lip gloss through Whitening Lightning and decided to go ahead and get this one even if it was a little pricey, but I saved up money for it. See how pigmented that color is?? This is the color Rose Hill and the website says it is a romantic and feminine hue. It is a beautiful rosy red color and I love it!! This gloss is amazing because first it has a mirror on the side. Just remember to remove the sticker that is on top of the mirror, but I haven't done that yet that's why it looks dirty on the picture. Secondly, when you open this gloss it lights up. So if you need to reapply when you are out and you don't have a mirror and/or you are in a dark place you are covered. Last but n...

Pssssst! Instant Dry Shampoo

Hey guys!!! I love love love the Batiste Dry Shampoo , but before I traveled back in October I had ran out and I didn't have time to buy more. I went into a drugstore and the only thing I found was a Pssssst! Instant Dry Shampoo so I decided to go ahead and try it out.  I honestly do not like this dry shampoo, but I don't hate it. This dry shampoo will get the job done. It sucks up all the oils in your hair and it will stay like that till the next day. I hate the smell of it. To me it turns me off to a product if it doesn't smell good. Also a couple days ago I sprayed some in and someone told me that one side of my hair is white. This is definitely a product that you need to brush it out after a few minutes of applying it to your hair. The white cast that it leaves behind also turn me off to this product. Overall this is an okay dry shampoo. I will be going back to Batiste as soon as this is done haha. Have you guys tried this product?? What do you think?? ...

88 Original Palette by Coastal Scents

Hey guys!!! When I first Started out with make up at 15 I got make up as birthday gifts that year. I was glad I didn't have to purchase any of it myself. Once I got a job a couple years later I wanted to get more and start experimenting with make up a little bit more. It was a low paying job so I was on a budget. I was looking for an affordable eyeshadow palette because I wanted to play around with colors on my eyes. I decided to purchase the Coastal Scents Original Palette:    I actually heard about this palette from my friend Nikki also known as Nix92585 on YouTube.* She was talking about it on her Facebook and I thought "that's a pretty palette" so I decided to go check it out on the website. I love that everything on there is very affordable and I have had this palette for a couple years now and I barely hit pan on one color. It lasts you a long time for such a reasonable price.  Here are swatches:  As you can see these colo...
