October 2014 Favorites

Hey guys!!!

It is time for my October favorites!! I can't believe that Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, and New Years is right around the corner! I don't have too many favorites this month just because I didn't try out too many new products this month.

  • Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction- I received this in my September Ipsy bag and I haven't stopped using it since I got it. It leaves my hair feeling so soft and smooth. Also it smells so good and it lingers in my hair.
  • Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation- I recently traveled to New York and I love using this foundation because it lasts all day. I don't ever have to worry that I will come home to half of my makeup faded.
  • Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo- I received this in my August Ipsy bag and I started using it again this month and I honestly love it. I apply this before my foundation on places I apply my highlighter to make it a little more intense.
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo- I just realized that this was a favorite last month, but I had been using it a lot lately that it is still a favorite. I use it as a base for my eyeshadows to make them more vibrant. This one is in Inked in Pink.
  • Stila Countless Color Pigments- This was my go to brush for the month. Ever since I first applied it on my cheeks I loved the way it looks and I couldn't put it down. It is really pigmented and very blendable.
  • ELF Studio Small Tapered Brush- HOLY GRAIL BRUSH! This is now my everyday brush to use to apply my highlighter.
Those are my October favorites. What were some of your favorites of October??

Stila Countless Color Pigments

Hey guys!!!

My friend Samantha did a swap with me back in June and she gave me a Stila Countless Color Pigments in Indie. At first when I saw this I was like what is this? I never heard or seen this anywhere. She told me that it is a blush so that is how I started using it. I had never tried anything from Stila Cosmetics so I definitely was excited to receive this.

I swirl my brush to use all the colors and the first time I used it I applied way too much! I didn't expect it to be as pigmented as it was to be honest haha. I had clown cheeks, but of course I use my powder brush to blend it out and it was easy to blend out.

(Left: heavy swatch Right: one swipe)

As you can see it is a pinkish purplish color and I had never tried a blush this color before, but I am glad I did because it opened my mind up to try different color blushes. This product is really shimmery so you don't really need a highlighter on your cheekbones, but I love wearing highlighter so I still put some on. It is so long lasting I was so surprised. Normally blushes by the end of the day they fade a little bit on me, but this one it still looks like I barely put it on. When I traveled I would put on my makeup by 8am and I would get home by 11ish or so and it was still on.

Overall I LOVE this blush. Thank you to my friend Samantha for sending his to me. If you want to try this it is only $8 on Stila's website.

Have you guys tried this product?? If so what do you think?? What are some of your favorite Stila products??

ELF Studio Small Tapered Brush

Hey guys!!

I know I barely showed this in my New York Haul, but I HAVE to tell you all about this brush now. I am sure most of you have heard of the Sigma F35 Tapered Higlighter Brush. I have been wanting that brush so bad, but I can't get myself to pay $24 for a brush. I was looking on the ELF website and I saw they had a new brush that is just like the Sigma one just a lot cheaper.

I wasn't sure what I was going to think when I was about to first use it. I was applying my highlighter with my finger before getting this brush and O...M....G.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE?! This brush applies the highlighter so flawlessly. It blends out the highlighter on your cheekbones like a dream. This brush is also great quality. It feels sooo soft and when I first cleaned this brush there was absolutely no shedding.

This brush is now my HOLY GRAIL brush and I can't live without it. I am glad I did not spend $24 on the Sigma one. If you love applying highlighter to your cheekbones I recommend this brush and the best part is it's only $3.

Have you guys tried out this brush yet and what do you think of it?? What are some of you guys favorite ELF brushes??

L'OREAL Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

Hey guys!!!

I wanted to try out another mascara and I decided to try out the L'OREAL Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara. I had heard a lot of good reviews on this mascara and I also heard that this is a dupe to Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara. I bought it in the color Blackest Black in the Waterproof formula.

I love the wand to be honest. It coats all of my lashes without any difficulty especially the hard to reach lashes in the inner corner. This is one of the most unique wand I have ever seen. Here is why:

This one bends and a lot of people don't like that, but me personally it didn't bother me at all. When I first applied this mascara I was IMPRESSED! It gave me great volume, length, and my lashes seemed to stay curled on the first time. After almost two months of using it I have my full opinion.

I still love this mascara for the most part, BUT I noticed that the curl doesn't stay up right after I apply the mascara. I have to let it dry and I go back with the eyelash curler to curl again very gently so I don't pull any lashes out. Even with this extra step my lashes still fall back down a little bit which is disappointing because it is a waterproof formula. Other than that I love everything else about the mascara. It gives me great volume & length, makes my lashes look nice and long, and it doesn't smudge. I get watery eyes sometimes and this stayed put.

As much as I love the way my lashes look after applying this mascara I will not be repurchasing this all because it will not keep my lashes curled. Have you guys tried out this mascara?? What do you think of it?? What are some of your favorite L'OREAL mascaras??

October 2014 Empties

Hey guys!!!

Time for another empties post! I have used up quite a few products recently and I will be showing you what I used up. I will also be reviewing if I will repurchase them or not and why.

  • TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray- This was an awesome heat protectant spray. It was less than $3 and it leaves my hair feeling soft after I straighten it. I won't repurchase this one just because I love the L'Oreal one better.
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo- I LOVE this product it is my holy grail and I was sad when I ran out. This gives me a little volume and really sucks up all the oils from my hair on my 3rd day hair. I will def repurchase this.
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream-  HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT! I wash my hands like 10,000 times a day and my hands get really dry so I like to use this every night so my hands can soak up the moisture overnight! I was sad when I ran out especially since I won't be repurchasing right away. I have other lotions to go through before I do.
  • Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips- I do love these strips and I will most likely repurchase these again unless there is a better product out there. Do you guys recommend anything??
  • LORAC POREfection Mattifying Face Primer- I actually finished this a long time ago it was just chillin in my drawer for so long. I don't even remember what I think of this product. One thing I do remember is that a little goes a long way.
  • Boscia Clear Complexion Kit- I had bought this to see if my skin will enjoy these products. The cleanser is gentle on my skin, but the only thing is my skin does get more dry after using this. I did repurchase a full size because it was so gentle, but I might return it and get something else just because I don't really see much of a difference in my skin. The Clear Complexion Tonic I love. I will always keep this in my skin care routine I think. It makes my skin feel fresh and doesn't irritate it. Clear Complexion Treatment is also nice and doesn't irritate my skin. I don't know if I will keep this one in my skin care routine once again I don't see much of a difference with my skin. Clear Complexion Moisturizer I hated. It didn't moisturize me much so I didn't repurchase.
  • Ulta Eye Brow Gel- I got this as a gift from someone and I did enjoy it. It helped my brow product last all day, but it didn't control my crazy brow hairs.
  • The Body Shop Mini Coconut Body Scrub- I heard that using a body scrub is good for your skin and when I saw that the body shop was having a sale I decided to try it out. It makes my skin feel so soft after using it and I will def repurchase.
  • NARS Eyeshadow Duo- I got the Stage Beauty duo from my cousin a long time ago and I loved it. I used it alllll up and I would repurchase a different duo, but I can't get myself to spend so much money.
  • Vitamin E Lip Care Stick SPF 15-  I am in search of my holy grail lip balm and this was NOT it! It dried my lips so bad! Instead of helping my lips it made it worse.
  • Mini Strawberry Body Butter- I enjoyed this body butter it really moisturized my skin especially my really dry areas. I hope to repurchase this one soon.
  • Revlon Lash Potion Volume & Length Mascara- It was a nice mascara, but I would not repurchase this. I still love the Maybelline The Rocket. It was a nice everyday mascara it gave me nice volume, but not too much length.
  • Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes- I got this sample from Sephora and I am still searching for my holy grail eyeliner for my waterline. This liner didn't irritate my eyes whatsoever, but it didn't last on my waterline all day especially on the days that my eyes got watery. I wouldn't repurchase this because of that.
  • OFRA Universal Eyebrow Pencil- I received this in my June Ipsy bag and ever since I can't stop doing my brows. This pencil lasted me a long time and it was amazing. I am not sure if it is holy grail status just because I want to try out more brow products before I make that decision.
Those are all of my empties. What have you guys used up and will you repurchase it?

ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit

Hey guys!!!

I have been obsessed with doing my brows. I never thought it was necessary to be honest and once Ipsy sent me an eyebrow pencil I started doing my brows. I can never stop doing them again. If I have full face of makeup I NEED brows done.

In July when I went to New York I went to the ELF Store and I have been wanting to try the ELF Eyebrow Kit ever since I saw Shaaanxo use it on her eyebrows. It was only $3 so I thought why not get it now and try it out? I got it in the shade Dark.

I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about this since I have never used powder products on my brows before. I use my Real Techniques Brow Brush to apply this. It comes with a wax(the darkest color) and a powder(lighter color). I start with the wax and apply it all over. After that I use the powder to fill in whatever the wax didn't. When I first used this I was surprised with how pigmented this was.

(Left: wax Right: powder)

I apologize for the condition of my hand I work with kids and I wash my hands 10,000 times a day so it has been very dry lately. Anyways back to the product. A little bit of each product goes a long way. I really love this product and how it makes my brows look. If you want to see how it looks go here. This product lasts all day on its own because of that wax, but if you have crazy brow hairs I suggest you using a brow gel.

For a $3 product this was AMAZING and I am so IMPRESSED how much I actually do love it. I could almost say this could be my holy grail item, BUT as always I want to try out more products.

Have you guys tried out this product?? What do you guys think?? What are some of you guys favorite brow products??

ELF Essential Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

Hey guys!!!

Here is a real quick review on a brow mascara. I have been really into doing my eyebrows lately so I am in search of a good brow gel. I was using the ULTA brow gel, but once I ran out I decided to try out ELF Essential Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Mascara especially since it was just $1.

I had meant to take a picture when it was brand new, but I traveled right after I got it and didn't have time. This is an amazing brow mascara if you don't have crazy brow hairs. It helps the brow product that I use last longer, but doesn't really help with keeping my crazy brow hairs in place. Another thing is that it really doesn't last long. I haven't had the product 3 weeks yet and I am close to finishing the brow gel side, but then again this was just $1. The Ulta brow gel gave me the exact same results just so you know. I am using the ELF Brow Kit and that review will be next.

What are some of you guys favorite brow gel products?? I am in search of my holy grail product.

September 2014 Ipsy Bag

Hey guys!!!

I know I am late with this post especially since I already received my October bag, but I had been really busy lately. I was excited to receive the bag after I saw what I was getting on the website. Here is the bag and products:

I have a lot of makeup bags thanks to this subscription service, but this one is one of my top favorites that I have received!

Now to start with the products inside the bag.

Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction

I honestly didn't think I would love this product. It is supposed to moisturize, provide shine, smoothness, softness, UV Protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection, and light hold. First of all it smells really good and secondly I love how soft my hair feels once it is dry and because it does smell good it makes my hair smell good too. It has also helped with breakage of my hair and I will most likely be buying the full size!

Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush

I have heard a lot about Crown Brushes so I was very excited when I saw this in my bag. The brushes are very soft and they apply and blend my makeup amazingly. When I washed it none of the brush hairs fell out. I am impressed with this brush and I may get more in the future.

NYX Hot Singles Eyeshadow
I received the color Addiction and I am in love with the shade. It is a pretty burgandy color and it is perfect for fall. The formula of the shadow is amazing it is pigmented and really easy to blend. I kind of want to get more of these haha. What are some of you guys favorite shades??

Pacifica Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil
I received the shade gun metal and as you can see it is a silver gray shade. It was a little disappointing because it isn't as creamy as I thought it would be. I only use it as a base on my eyelids for other eyeshadows and it works for making the shadows pop and last all day.

Cailyn Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss
I received the shade Basic Instinct. I honestly didn't try this one all I did was swatch it. This color isn't a shade that I am into so I added it to my giveaway winner's goody bag and hopefully she enjoys it. I wish I had gotten the red shade.

That is all for my September Ipsy bag. If you are interested in getting this subscription service it is only $10 a month and you received 4-5 deluxe samples to full size products. You can go here to sign up. If you are already signed up what were some of your favorite products for this month??

Mini New York Haul!

Hey guys!!!

As usual whenever I go to New York I always go into Sephora and splurge. This time I didn't splurge as much just because I was going to New York Comic Con and I needed to save my money for that event. I also got one thing from ELF thanks to my friend Addy and I am excited to try it out.

  • SEPHORA COLLECTION Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color- I saw Judy from itsjudytime do a review on this product and ever since I been wanting to try one out. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and get a dark color. I got it in the color Deep Plum.
  • Bite Beauty Best Bite Remix- I already am in love with my Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate and when I saw this set I HAD to get it!! This limited edition set has the shades Sable, Rhubard, Pomegranate, and Winterberry. I was also excited to see that I got a back up of my favorite shade!!
  • Korres Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial- I have been splurging a lot on my skin scare since my skin started acting up. I had gotten a sample of this and fell in love. I will have a full skin care routine once I have it all figured out. I am almost there.
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner- I have been on the search for a good waterproof liner and thanks to again my friend Krystelle she recommended this liner. I have used it a couple of times already and so far so good!
  • ELF Small Tapered Brush- I always wanted a brush to apply my highlight on my cheekbones and there is a Sigma brush I been wanting, but I can't get myself to buy it. I got on the ELF website and I saw this so I HAD to have it since it looks just like the Sigma one. I haven't used it yet so I will update you later.
Now that is what I got. What have you guys gotten at Sephora and ELF recently??

Nails of the Week!

Hey guys!!

I know I haven't done one of these in a while, but I wasn't in the mood to do my nails or not in the mood to do a nails post. I decided not to do these every week only when my nail color excites me or if I am in the mood haha. I did my toes and this color was so beautiful that I HAD to put it on my fingers.

I used Julep nail polish in the color Dahlia. It is a beautiful yellow gold color and I am in love with it. I had this in my collection and I don't remember receiving this one so I never used it. I found it yesterday and I am glad I did. The Julep polishes normally last me about maybe 3-4 days before chipping so hopefully this one will be the same or maybe better. It was 2 coats opacity.

Isn't it gorgeous??!

What are some of you guys favorite polishes??

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Eyeshadow Quad

Hey guys!!!

I was at Target one day and there were a couple of eyeshadow quads on clearance for less than $3 and I picked one up to try out. It is the Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Eyeshadow Quad in State of Grace.

I have never been so disappointed in any eyeshadow palette like I am with this one. Normally I am able to find a way to work with eyeshadows whether I use a primer or primer and a base like for example a maybelline color tattoo or nyx jumbo eye pencil. When I had swatched the colors it looked really promising and I had high hopes for it.

I swatched each color twice and it looks amazing especially the blue and purple shades. I applied it on my eyes with only primer and it didn't look as pigmented as it did on the swatch. Everytime I would blend the colors the color would blend away. I kept adding color to my lid and it kept doing the same thing. I still wore it throughout the day and by the end it looked like I didn't add a purple eyeshadow on my lid it looked like a bunch of shimmer.

I decided to use a maybelline color tattoo one day and another day i used the NYX jumbo eye pencil hoping it would be better. With the color tattoo it did the same thing and by the end of the day only the color tattoo was showing which was weird. It worked a little better with the NYX pencil, but still not good enough for me to even love this product. It didn't blend away as much and the color didn't fade away as much by the end of the day. The color is still not as pigmented as I want when I first apply it on my eyes.

Overall this was a very disappointing product for me. I have never had these issues with any other eyeshadows that I have used. I honestly think I will throw this one away. Did you guys try out this product and did you have issues like I did?? What are some of your favorite Rimmel products??

September 2014 Favorites!

Hey guys!!!

I am not going to start the blog off just like everyone else does so lets just get into it. I am really looking forward to an event I am going to in October and hopefully some cooler weather. What are you guys looking forward to?? Now on to the products I have been loving:

  • Sephora Collection 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation- I have a love hate relationship with this foundation. It doesn't last 10 hours at all, but I do love the finish and how it makes my skin look. I have been using this foundation like crazy since I got it.
  • LORAC PRO Cream Eyeliner- I got it in the color Plum and I love the formula of this eyeliner. It lasts all day, it is easy to work with, and love the color.
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo- I stopped using a base for a while and then when I did the review for these color tattoos I started using my Inked in Pink color tattoo again and I haven't put it down since. I love how long it makes my eyeshadows lasts and how vibrant it makes some colors look.
  • Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color- I have the color Shy Blush and I love how this color looks on my cheeks. It is very glowy and it gives you a bronzed look. This blush is pigmented and really easy to blend.
  • NYC Sunny Bronzer- This is a great everyday bronzer! I have to build this color up for it to show up, but that is what I love about it especially at 5am when I am getting ready for work. I don't have to worry to mess it up and make my cheeks look muddy.
  • Venus Embrace Sensitive razor- This is my new favorite razor thanks to Influenster. I received it for testing purposes and now it is a holy grail razor for me. Shaving is now a faster process for me now.
Well those are my September favorites! What have been some of your favorites for this month??
I have a giveaway going on right now and if you are interested in entering go here.
