August 2014 Favorites

Hey guys!!!

Summer is almost over!! My summer was so boring for the most part, but my trip to NYC made it more fun sadly it was only for a week and after that back to boring. Do you guys have any plans for the fall?? Now let's start with my favorites from the month of August!

  • 88 Original Palette by Coastal Scents- I will always love love this palette, but this month I gave it a lot of love. I gave it so much love that I hit pan on a couple of colors even my favorite crease color I used it all up. I had to go find a similar color in a different palette. I was really into wearing bright colors on my eyes this month.
  • Mary Kay At Bold Fluid Eyeliner- I really love doing a bold eyeliner look at times and I LOVE the teal color in this line. It doesn't budge once you put it on. My eyes water while at work sometimes and it didn't smudge. A lot of people compliment my makeup when I wear this.
  • Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner- I used to be all about liquid eyeliner and nothing else. I have turned to gel eyeliner and I love how long it lasts. It was hard to get used it, but after practicing now I can do a winged liner at 5:30am before work.
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion- I have been loving this primer this month. I decided to use up what I have before I buy more and this primer was my pick for the month.
  • Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask- I love how soft and smooth my face feels after using this mask. I also don't have to use as much moisturizer when I use it. I recently used it up and I need it back in my life already. I hope to go back to LUSH soon.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer- I was busy using up bronzers and I honestly still am, but I couldn't help to go back to my holy grail bronzer. I am in love with how it looks on the skin.
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil- I have the color Milk and I will review it soon, but just know that I love it.
  • Sephora Collection 10HR Wear Perfection Foundation- This has become my everyday foundation and review will be coming soon. Just like the NYX product I have been loving this one.
  • The Balm Smoke Balm Eyeshadow Palette- Since in my coastal scents palette I ran out of my favorite crease color I came to this palette and I am using the brown shade as my new everyday crease color. I am in love with how pigmented and easy to blend it is.
  • The Body Shop Body Butter- I have the scent strawberry and I have to say this is my favorite one out of the 3 I have tried so far. For some reason I feel like this one moisturizes my body better than the other 2. I will hopefully purchase the full size one day.
Those are my August favorites. What are some of your favorites for the month???

Vitality VoxBox

Hey guys!!!!

I was excited when Influenster chose me to receive another box!! This time around it is the Vitality VoxBox!! I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

When it arrived I was a little eehhh about it because about 3 of these things I won't be able to use. Here is why....

Playtex Sport Fresh Balance

For this one I will just go straight to the point. I don't use tampons and probably never will. That is all. I will be giving them to someone that will use them.

Bikini Ready Energy Gummies

This is another one I will get straight to the point. These gummies have caffeine in them and I can't have caffeine. My nerves act up really bad. Again I will give them to someone who will use them.

Softlips Cube

I am always trying new lip balms, but I already knew this one wasn't going to work out for me. It was nice that it came with two coupons so if I enjoyed it I could get more. The reason why I knew it wouldn't work out for me was because it is scented and smelled like strawberries. Those lip balm like that tend to dry out my lips BAD!! I decided to give it a shot one night and the next morning my lips were so dry that I HAD to exfoliate my lips. I gave it to my mom maybe she will love it.

Pure Leaf Iced Tea

When I saw this in my box I wasn't too sure what to think of it. My friend told me she tried it and that it was good so why not try it? It was surprisingly good and it wasn't too sweet. I like the fact that it is made with real brewed tea. I will definitely be getting more later on.

First Degree Advanced Burn Cream

I appreciate this product now especially since I am always burning myself with my straightener haha. I have already used it once and it helped heal the burn faster. This is a great product to keep in the kitchen too. I am glad that they sent me this.

Elizabeth Arden FLAWLESS FUTURE Powered by Ceramide Caplet Serum

It is a great deluxe sample size this will last a while. I already have my holy grail serum, but I tried this out twice to see how my face will feel after using it. I really liked how smooth it made my face feel. You guys will find out soon which one is my holy grail soon. I will be giving this away to someone.

Thank you Influenster for sending me this box!! I always get excited to see what I get every single time!! Did you guys receive this box too??? What did you think of it??

Revlon Lash Potion Volume & Length Mascara

Hey guys!!!

I have been trying out a mascara for a while now and I am ready to say what I think of it. As much as I loved my Maybelline The Rocket Mascara I am really interested in trying other mascaras. I had a coupon to the Revlon Lash Potion mascara so I decided to try that one out! First can we appreciate the beautiful packaging??

I got it in blackest black and in waterproof. One thing I love is that even with this mascara being waterproof I can remove it really easy. With it being waterproof I would hope that my curl will hold all day, but sadly with this mascara it does not. I put my makeup on for work at 5:15am everyday and by the time I get home by 4pm my lashes have fallen back down. I rarely have time to go to the restroom to check on how long it lasts curled. Of course since it is waterproof it doesn't smudge for me at all. If you have stubborn lashes like me I can already say this is not a good mascara for you.

The website says that it "Magically transform lashes to lush, long and lustrous. A potion with strengthening proteins drenches lashes for volume. Triple-groove wand combs through for clump-free length." I agree with the volume and that it is clump free, but not so much the length. I already have long lashes and i didn't notice them any longer. I always do two coats of mascara and it didn't clump on me, but if you try a third coat that's when it started clumping a little for me.

Overall I think it is a okay mascara. I probably would love it more if the curl stayed all day. Have you guys tried this mascara?? What did you think of it?? What is you favorite drugstore mascara?? I am looking for another one to try out!

Real Techniques Blush and Setting Brush

Hey guys!!

I have two more Real Techniques brushes to write about that is until I get more because I am obsessed. Previously I wrote about the Expert Face Brush and Powder Brush, Starter Kit, and Miracle Complexion Sponge.

This time I am talking about the blush brush (left) and the setting brush (right).

Blush Brush

I love how soft and fluffy this brush is, even though all their brushes are soft, and I can use this brush for two things. I mostly use it for blush, but I can also use it to bronze up my skin. It applies your blush and bronzer so flawlessly. I used to use the little brushes that came with blushes and as soon as I fell in love with this brush it was thrown out!

Setting Brush

I never thought I would ever use this brush when I bought it, but I LOVE setting my concealer with this. The size of the brush makes it really easy to go under your eyes and set the concealer.  I have seen people use it to blend out their concealer and set with it. I haven't tried that yet because I don't use concealer everyday and when I do I just blend it out with the sponge.

Do you guys own these brushes?? Which one is your favorite?? Do you have any other Real Techniques brush recommendations that I should get? I plan on getting another one soon.

August 2014 Ipsy Bag

Hey guys!!!

It is that time again! I was excited for this bag and tried everything ASAP! I couldn't help myself. Here is why:

I was really excited to get the GlamGlow mask and the Urban Decay mascara. One thing I wasn't a big fan of was the bag.

I don't like the material of this bag at all. It feels fake to me. Did you guys like the bag??

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Something told me that this one wasn't going to work out for me because I noticed that most of the high end mascaras are not waterproof. I went to the UD website and it doesn't say anything about it being waterproof. I also went to Sephora and they said it is not. I am going to be giving this away in giveaway really soon. (hint hint)

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner

I am looking for my holy grail lip balm so I was excited to get this in my bag. Sadly, it didn't work out as well as I wanted it to. It doesn't dry out my lips as bad as some other scented lip balms so I will use this up.

GlamGlow YouthMud TingleExfoliate Treatment

This is what I was really excited for! I have tried their hydrating mask and I loved it, but I probably won't purchase since its $70. I expected this mask to really feel tight on my face, but it didn't. After I took it off my face felt really soft and smooth. It was an okay mask for me so I will not purchase this one. I am glad I got to try it though.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo

At first I wasn't too sure if I was gonna like this, but I actually do like it. It is a shimmery lotion that I put it on top of my cheekbones before I apply my foundation and it gives a beautiful subtle glow. I can go without using a highlighter if I wanted to, but I still do honestly haha.

Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil

Here's something I really needed ANOTHER black eyeliner. Now I have about 5 of them and my goal is to use them up by next month. Anyways back to this one. I have used it about 3 times and it was really easy to apply on the waterline. It is really pigmented and it lasted for a while on my waterline. We will see if it smudges once my allergies act up.

What did you guys get in you Ipsy bag this month?? Did you love it or hate it?? If you aren't subscribed to Ipsy it is only $10 a month and you get 5 deluxe samples or sometimes even full sizes every month along with a new makeup bag. If you are interested in subscribing or you want more information go here

LUSH Cosmetics Fresh Face Mask

Hey guys!!!

I had heard so much about LUSH from YouTube and blogs so I was very curious about the brand. A mall near me finally opened up a LUSH and I went in there as soon as I could to see what they had to offer. I love their customer service and they really know what will be good for your skin type. I asked for a moisturizing mask and that is what I got:

I got the Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask and I gotta say that to me it feels like you have a spa on your face when you have this on I don't know why. It might be because it is cold since you have to keep this mask refrigerated. This mask "gently brightens skin with exfoliating almonds and comforting honey." "A almond and lavender to dull, flaky skin."

If you have Normal to Dry or Dry Skin I think you should try this out. My skin feels hydrated and smooth right after you wash it off even after its been a few days since you used it. It also exfoliates your skin while you are washing it off. It smells AMAZING! I am definitely either repurchasing this again which most likely I am or trying out another mask next time I am in that store.

I have only used this mask twice and I can already feel a difference on my skin. It doesn't feel as dull and dry anymore and I hope it continues to improve. One thing about this mask is that it expires and luckily on the pot it has an expiration date on the bottom. They have different fresh face masks for every skin type or skin issues. Check them out here.

Have you guys tried out these masks?? Which one is your favorite?? What is your favorite LUSH product?

August 2014 Empties

Hey guys!!!

I have collected quite a bit of trash so now I am going to show you what I have used up, what I think of it, and would I repurchase it.

  • Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes- I love these wipes to remove any swatches from my hands or arms. I will definitely repurchase these as soon as I can get to a store which I hope is soon.
  • Rimmel London SCANDAL EYES Liquid Eyeliners- I used up two liquid eyeliners. One is the Precision Micro Eyeliner and the other is the Thick & Thin Eyeliner. I really enjoyed these liners so much especially since they were waterprooof. Maybe I will repurchase them in the future, but right now I have been into gel liner so I don't know. I do highly recommend them though.
  • Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner- At first I thought this was okay, but one day it smudged really bad on me that I couldn't even finish this up. I know a lot of people rave about it, but it didn't work out for me. I am still in search of my holy grail liner.
  • Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara- I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mascara. It is my holy grail, but I want to try other mascaras and I will eventually repurchase this again. It was a sad day when this started clumping really bad on me.
  • Rimmel London SCANDAL EYES Retro Glam Mascara- I had a love hate relationship with this mascara. During the summer I would practice everyday my eye makeup and I would apply this mascara to use it up. I never went anywhere anyways so I used it till it started clumping. I would not repurchase this one.
  • Mary Kay Eye Primer- This was my holy grail eye primer for a long time and it still is. I will eventually repurchase this one day, but for now I have to use up the eye primers I have first.
  • Benefit the POREfessional- I received this sample from Sephora and I really like the primer. My foundation would look flawless after I applied it. I don't know if I will purchase this yet just cause I am on the hunt for my holy grail primer and I don't know if this is it.
  • Pixi Beauty Bronzer- I received this in my first Ipsy bag and I really enjoyed it, but it is not holy grail status. I found my high end holy grail bronzer now I need to find one at the drugstore. Any suggestions?
  • Smith's Rosebud Salve- It was an enjoyable lip balm, but not holy grail. I will possibly repurchase this, but in the tube version. I kinda hated dipping my finger in the pot. To me its unsanitary. Is there a difference between the pot version and the tube one??
  • Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Soap- The scent is Tis the Season. I got it during the semi annual sale last year and I barely finished it. I mostly use the other soap that is in my bathroom since I share with my bro he wouldn't want these soaps to be the only one in the bathroom haha. I will def repurchase more in different scents. I have one in my bathroom as we speak.
  • Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil- I love this product to remove my makeup and I will definitely repurchase in the future. I want to try out other cleansing oils. Any suggestions?
  • Boscia Clear Complexion Treatment- I bought the Clear Complexion Kit and I finished up the Clear Complexion Treatment first out of everything. My skin was loving it so much that I already bought the full size of it. I also love the cleanser and the toner, but the moisturizer I am not too much of a fan. Do you guys know of any good moisturizer for normal to dry skin??
  • The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter- I got the travel size whenever they were having a sale and I love their body butters. I really loved the smell of this one! I will be repurchasing another one soon.
What are some of you guys holy grail products???

Maybelline Eye Studio 24 HR Color Tattoos

Hey guys!!!

This is one of my favorite products from Maybelline. I heard my friend Nikki talking about them in her videos and I had to try one out. The first one I got is from the Metal collection in Inked in Pink. Recently in a swap I received the color Caramel Cool, but unfortunately it is a limited edition color and it is not available anymore. I am sorry about that.

I have loved my Inked in Pink so much that I have hit pan on it. I have heard that you don't need a primer with these, but I still put primer on just because I have oily eyelids. When you apply it just blend it out quickly because once it sets it will not budge. I recommend you to do one eye at a time so you have time to blend it out. I love using these as a base or even alone with winged liner and done.

I was at Sephora once and they were trying to remove my eye makeup, but they were having trouble. They asked me "What you got on your eyes? Because whatever it is it doesn't want to budge." Make sure you got a good makeup remover to get these color tattoos off.

So far everything I have tried from Maybelline I have LOVED! I do want to get a couple more color tattoos, but I have trouble deciding which shade since there are so many and now there are leather tattoos. Have you guys tried those yet?? What do you think of them??

What is your favorite Maybelline product?? I would love to hear your suggestions. I want to try something new so let me know what I should try next.

Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliners

Hey guys!!!

I went with a friend to a Mary Kay event to get a sneak peak of the new products. I swatched all of the colors they had and I was very impressed. So when they came out I purchased two colors.

I got the colors Gold Metal and The Real Teal

I really wanted a teal eyeliner and also I wanted a color that I have never tried that's why I decided to go with the gold. They are soooo pigmented and the applicator is really easy to work with. Time for the swatches:

Aren't these colors gorgeous??! One thing I will say if you get these liners make sure you have the best eye makeup remover because once these set they will NOT budge at all. Especially for the teal color. I removed these swatches with a makeup remover wipes and the teal color left a stain on my hand.

These eyeliners are $10 each on the Mary Kay Website. They also have a purple and a bright blue color that I want to get in the future haha. If they had a black liner like this one it would be holy grail status because I am in the search of a good waterproof black liquid eyeliner. If you want to see how the teal liner looks on the eye just go here.

Have you guys tried out this product?? Which color is your favorite?? What is you favorite Mary Kay product??

Face of the Day!

Hey guys!!!

I haven't done a Face of the Day in a while just because I haven't been in the mood to take pictures to be honest haha. I am a weirdo because I hate taking pictures by myself I don't know why. This time it wasn't a beauty guru inspired makeup I came up with it on my own.

I started off by priming my lids and face. I primed my lids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion and my face with the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer. Right after everything sets I go into my 88 Original Palette by Coastal Scents and I go into a light brown color to blend it out in my crease as my transition shade.

Next I go into the same palette, but this time I swirl my brush into a shimmery light brown and a darker brown. I applied it into my crease and I blend it out of course. I kept repeating this until it was as dark as I wanted it.

Once again going into the same palette I used a matte light peachy color and I applied it all over the lid. As always blend it all out to get rid of any harsh lines.

For eyeliner today I decided to go with color!!! I used the Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in The Real Teal. As usual I winged it out. Review on the eyeliner coming tomorrow. I use a white matte shade to put it under my brow. I blend it out so it won't be harsh white.

Now time for the face. I used the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation and for concealer under my eyes I used my Jane Cosmetics Concealer in light. Concealer for my chin, nose, forehead and top of my lip to highlight my face I used the NYX Cosmetics HD Photogenic Concealer in Medium. I set my face with my Mary Kay Transluscent Powder.

Back to the eyes. I used the same shimmery light brown and dark brown that I used in my crease in my lower lash line. I blended it out till it looks nice and smokey. I lined both my waterlines with my NARS Larger Than Life eyeliner in Via Veneto. I curl my eyelashes and I use the Revlon Lash Potion Volume & Length Waterproof Mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

Going back to the face. To contour I use my Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation Stick in 340 Cappuccino. I set my contour with the Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Summertime. I only do a light application of this I don't wanna overdo it with the contour. For blush I went into my Thats Heart Eyeshadow and Blush Palette and I used the matte pink blush in the palette. I also use the highlight shade in the palette on my cheekbones and the inner corner of my eye.

Now for my brows I used the OFRA Eyebrow Pencil and I set it with a sample of Ulta Eyebrow Gel. For lips I used the Rimmel London Show Off Lip Laquer in Celestial.

Ignore the fact that I look sleepy haha. What do you guys think?? What are some of your favorite everyday products???

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

Hey guys!!

I am a huge fan of cleansing oils to remove my makeup and when The Body Shop was having a 40% off sale AND free shipping I decided it was a great time to purchase this one especially after I heard Amelia Liana RAVING about it.

The first cleansing oil I ever tried was the Garnier Clean Nourishing Cleansing Oil and I did enjoy that one while I was using it. Now I am in LOVE with this one. It removes all of my makeup with 1-2 pumps and it removes my waterproof mascara amazingly. Just make sure that with any cleansing oil your hands and face are dry before you rub it on your face.

The Garnier cleansing oil will leave my some oily residue after I washed everything off, but it wasn't a problem for me since I have normal to dry skin and also I normally shower after removing my makeup. I know some people don't like that so I recommend you to try out The Body Shop one. It doesn't leave any residue once you wash it off.

I also love that this is a natural product and that they are against animal testing. This product is $18 and I will definitely repurchase this again in the future. I want to try out other cleansing oils do you guys have any other suggestions??

Have you guys tried this product?? What are your thoughts on it? What other The Body Shop products do you recommend??

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and Powder Brush

Hey guys!!!

Previously I spoke about the Starter Kit and it is a set of eye brushes. Now I am going to talk about two more of my favorite brushes from Real Techniques, but this time it is for the face.

I have heard a lot of Real Techniques brushes and when I saw that Kohl's carries them I decided to get one. I started off with getting the Powder Brush.

I have the Mary Kay Powder brush and this one, but I prefer this one over the Mary Kay one. This one is more soft and I think it applies the powder nicely on my face. Whenever I get heavy handed with my bronzer or blush I use this brush to blend it out. The only thing I don't like is that it kinda takes a while to dry.

Now on to the Expert Face Brush.

I have heard that this brush was awesome to use to apply foundation and I only had the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge at the moment. I love the sponge so much that I already have a backup, but I wanted something else to use for when the sponge is too dirty.

If I want more coverage with my foundation I grab this brush and if I want to sheer out the foundation a little that's when I will use the sponge. This is my new holy grail foundation brush. It applies your foundation flawlessly and makes it really easy to blend.

What I especially love about these brushes is that they are cruelty-free and very affordable.

Have you guys tried these brushes?? Which one is your favorite or even holy grail brush??

New York Haul

Hey guys!!!

I was in New York a few weeks ago and one day was dedicated to shoooppppiiiinnngggg!! I decided to show you what I got.

I didn't go as crazy as I thought I was going to haha. I went to Sephora, ELF Store, The Body Shop, Walgreens, and Lush. On to what I bought:
  • Sephora Collection Z Palette- I have MakeUp Geek Eyeshadows that needed to be put in a Z palette and I was excited when I had found this in a store!
  • Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner- I am looking for a liner that will stay on my waterline and not budge even when I have watery eyes. Sad to say that this didn't work for me. It made my eyes water even more than usual. It is going back.
  • No Cosmetics No Bleeding Lip Secret Lip Liner- I been looking for a good clear lip liner so I decided to try this one out.
  • Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain- A friend of mine gifted this to me. He gave me to color 08 Cute Pink. I can't wait to try it out!
  • e.l.f. Studio Small Stipple Brush- I was excited to go to the e.l.f. store since I don't have one down here. I am working on cream contouring so I decided to try it out with this brush.
  • e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit- I had heard Shaaanxo raving about this product and I am still working on my brow game so I want to see if I prefer powder or pencil eyebrow product.
  • The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth Serum- I have heard that using a serum will improve your skin and I wasn't sure where to start. I went in here and decided to try out their best selling product. Hopefully it works out for me.
  • LUSH Bubble Gum Lip Scrub- I have issues with dry lips all the time so I hope this one works out.
  • NYX Slim Lip Pencil- My friend gifted me this and she gave me the color purple rain. I have never tried a NYX lip liner so I am excited to try this out.
  • Wet N Wild Fergie Lipsticks- I have heard so much about about these lipsticks, but I can never find them down here in Texas so I took advantage while I was here to grab a few. I got the colors Fuchianista, Ferguson Crest Cabernet, and Old School Glam.
That is all I bought. What have you guys bought recently??
