March 2015 Empties

Hey guys!!!

I know I still have lots of products to talk to you guys about, but I have lots of empties so I will tell you guys what I used up, what I think of it, and will I repurchase? Here are my empties:

  • Black by Kenneth Cole Lotion- My future sis in law gave me the set with the perfume and the lotion as a gift. I finished up the lotion and it was okay. I had been using it as my hand lotion throughout the day since it is not hydrating enough for my hands. I still have the perfume to use up, but I am almost there.
  • Klorane Dry Shampoo- I received this in my Birchbox and I was really excited to try this out because I had heard so much great things about it. I ended up LOVING this product and it is my new holy grail dry shampoo. It is a natural dry shampoo with oat milk and it is a tinted one as well. It soaks up the oils and I can go 2-3 days without washing my hair. I will be getting full size in the future.
  • Mary Kay TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C- I had been looking for a nice serum and so far this is the best one. You only need 2-3 small pumps and it sinks into the skin nicely. It is a good serum to get that extra boost of hydration one needs. I will be repurchasing another one soon.
  • Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation- This is my favorite drugstore foundation. It lasts all day on the skin and it is a matte finish. Now that my skin is combination I am now more interested in matte finishes so the foundations can last on my skin longer and this is a great one. I will repurchase this in the future.
  • Whish Three Wishes Body Butter- I received this in my January Birchbox and I am in love with this. It says it firms, softens, and smooths the skin and I agree. My skin feels great and it really moisturizes my skin. I will get a full size in the future.
  • Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores- I use this at the end of every week and I do feel like it clears my pores, but it does dry out the skin so I make sure I use a hydrating mask as well. HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT!
  • Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner- I received this from Influenster and I loved this product while I had it. It was a great eyeliner to work with. It glided on smoothly, lasted all day,and very easy to use. Only thing was that mine dried out once I was halfway finished. I tried to revive the liner, but it didn't work. I probably wouldn't purchase this because I am more into liquid liner honestly, but it was a great liner.
  • Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder- Do I need to say more? HOLY GRAIL setting powder. I was upset when I ran out of this. This doesn't look powdery on my skin and it sets my under eyes without making it crease even more. I am buying the full size during the Sephora sale! Anyone know the date yet??
  • Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover- This is an amazing eye makeup remover and because it is oil based it removes even my waterproof mascara. I will definitely purchase this again.
  • Paris Hilton Perfume- My friend gave me a set of Paris Hilton perfumes and I have my favorites from that set, but this one was not. I decided to use it up so it can leave my collection and I was glad I did.
  • Mary Kay ClearProof Acne Treatment Gel- I really did enjoy this product and I felt like it was doing my skin well, but it was very drying. It was so bad makeup didn't look right on top. I decided to look for something else that won't dry out my skin as much.
  • Maybelline FIT Me Concealer- So far my favorite concealer from the drugstore and yes I did repurchase already. It is very lightweight, blendable, and it only creases a little bit unless you use a good setting powder then it won't.
  • L'OREAL True Match Super Blendable Makeup- This was okay ,but not the foundation for me. It lasted a good amount of the day, but I would always look super oily by the end of the day and it transfers on clothes and other people so I am not repurchasing this product.
  • Clinique Liquid Facial Soap- I got this set from Sephora so I can see if this helps my skin. I used up the Liquid Facial Soap and it is really gentle on my skin and it doesn't break me out. I already purchased the full size.
  • Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2- This toner didn't break me out so I already purchased the full size. So far the Clinique products hasn't irritated my skin or made it worse so we shall see.
  • Maybelline The Rocket Mascara- As you know this is my HOLY GRAIL mascara. I don't need to say more haha.
  • NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner- I actually really enjoyed this eyeliner. I did need to touch up throughout the day, but that's okay. It is $24, but it is so worth it because this lasted me for months and I didn't think it was. I am trying out another and if nothing compares to this then I will repurchase this.
  • ELF Eye Primer- This is a nice primer for the price. I can only use this during winter time because my lids don't get as oily so if you don't have oily eyelids this will be perfect for you.
  • POP Beauty lip gloss- I don't remember the shade name, but it was a pretty pink gloss. It had a weird scent though so I wouldn't repurchase.
Those are my empties. I told you guys it was a lot. What have you guys used up recently?

Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge

Hey guys!!!

A few months back in a previous Birchbox I received a sample of the Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in the shade Sydney. I was excited and nervous to try out this product because I know not all liquid lipsticks work for me. The only one that has worked for me is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain and I'm happy that they came out with new shades.

As you can see it is a very decent sample size and when I swatched this on my hand I was really impressed but at the same time I expected it to be since most liquid lipsticks are.

(one swipe)

Everytime before using the Sephora Cream Lip Stain I exfoliate my lips and I apply lip balm so while I am doing the rest of my makeup my lips hydrate so I did the same thing before applying this lip product. Of course before I apply the lip product I remove the balm.

I used a brush to get the product on my lips just in case I would give it to anyone. For some reason it would apply very patchy, but once I got it to look decent this was a no go for me. It was a little thicker consistency than the Sephora one, but not that big a difference.

On the website it says:
"The superb hydrating formula fills in fine lip lines and is extremely long lasting. With an inbuilt stain that allows the lip colour to wear off evenly never leaving you with patchy colour!"

On me it was not hydrating, enhanced my lip lines, and it was actually peeling off my lips. Sadly it didn't work on me at all so I am glad I used a brush rather than the applicator. I already gave it to a friend who is enjoying it better than me and she loves it.

Have you guys tried this product?? How did it work for you?? What is your favorite liquid lipstick? Do you guys have any other tips for us dry lips girls so these liquid lipsticks don't make our lips look like its shedding??

L'OREAL True Match Super Blendable Makeup

Hey guys!!!

A long while ago I had been mentioning a new foundation that I was trying out and I had never brought it back up again till now. I know everyone and their mother has heard and spoken about this product, but all these foundations that I try or mention about it new to me.

I had heard a lot about the L'OREAL True Match Super Blendable Makeup from so many YouTubers and almost everyone loves it to death so I definitely was interested in trying it out.

I sucked at choosing my shade in this foundation, but I got the shade N6 honey beige and it was a tad dark for me. One thing I do love about this product is that there are, according to the website, 33 shades available so a lot of you should be able to find your shade.

I applied this foundation with a brush and with a sponge, but I preferred the sponge. This product is medium to full coverage on me. When I first tried this product my skin was normal to dry skin and I didn't need to set it and it would last a whole work day without me getting shiny or anything.

This foundation is a satin finish to me and at first I was drawn to that finish for my foundations before my skin changed and now I am looking for demi matte and matte finish. Before my 26th birthday I was noticing that my skin was changing again and it is now combination. Now that my t-zone and the apples of my cheek gets oily I HAVE to set it no matter what. By noonish at work I start noticing some shine showing through and by 3pm I am so shiny I hate the way my skin looks so I have to get my powder and take away the shine.

What I like about this product is that it doesn't clog my pores or make them look bigger and that it is oil free. Also it didn't break me out! My skin doesn't start getting shiny till after about 7 hours of wear and to me that is great. What I really hate is that if I am not careful this foundation will transfer on clothes, mine and other people, and on my phone if I put it on my ear.

Overall I like the foundation, but I don't think it is holy grail status for me. I will repurchase one day though just because it is a good everyday foundation.

What do you guys think of this product if you have tried it?? What are some of your holy grail foundations??

Birchbox March 2015 Unboxing

Hey guys!!!

I am very excited to show you what I received in my Birchbox this month. I think that each of these products in this box I will actually be using.

  • BeeKind Shampoo- This shampoo is made with moisturizing honey extract and it will leave your hair soft and shiny. I been wanting to try out a all natural brand of shampoo and this one sounds very promising so we shall see.
  • Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos- This is a water resistant pigment that stays put and gives skin an effortless glow. I have never tried anything from Cargo Cosmetics so I am excited to see how this product works out.
  • Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (24-Hour Miracle Cream)- This product is a makeup artist must have and moisturizer can be used as a primer and makeup remover. I have heard so many great things about this product so I can't wait to try it!
  • Fekkai PrX Reparatives Instense Fortifying Masque- This treatment repairs, protects, and smooths damaged or tired hair. I have never heard anything about this product before, but I have heard great things about this brand so again I can't wait to try this.
  • Mirenesse Glossy Kiss-Cheeky Kiss- This product is a hydrating lip crayon that delivers a bold, long lasting color with a smooth and shiny finish. I received a Mirenesse product in Birchbox before I will be reviewing soon, but I was excited to receive a different lip product in this box. We shall see how this one differs from the previous one.
Those are all the products I received in my Birchbox. Honestly to me Birchbox has really been stepping up their game and I have been more excited to receive this box than my Ipsy. That is why I haven't really done my Ipsy review yet because I have lost motivation to do that post.

If you are interested in receiving this subscription service it is only $10 a month and you receive about 5 sample size products every month. The size of the products have been great these last few months. Just click here if you are interested and want to know more information.

Maybelline FIT Me Concealer

Hey guys!!!

As you guys know I have been on the hunt for my holy grail concealer for a while now. I have tried the Jane Cosmetics Concealer and the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer, but those were just okay concealers. I have heard so much hype about the Maybelline FIT Me Concealer so I decided that it would be the next one I try. I got the shade Medium.

This product in the picture is actually a repurchase sooo what you guys think that means?? I am IN LOVE with this concealer so much!!  This is so lightweight and such a thin formula that it doesn't look cakey once applied to the skin.

It is very pigmented and for me it is full coverage. I have dark circles and it even gets dark in my inner corner, but because this is so thin I thought maybe this wouldn't cover up my darkness. I was so surprised that it covered everything. It blends like a dream whether I use a sponge or a brush, but I prefer the sponge.

(one swipe)

This only creases VERY little, but if I use the right powder, Laura Mercier Powder, it doesn't crease at all. Oh and most importantly this lasts all day. The only downside is that I went through this product kinda fast just like the NYX HD concealer, but it was $5.49 at Walmart and it has been the best concealer I have tried so far so it doesn't matter I will always repurchase.

Overall this is my holy grail concealer and it is definitely worth the hype. I heard that this is a dupe to NARS concealer, but I haven't tried that one and probably won't for a while. For those of you who has is this true?? I will still keep trying out other concealers though just because I want to haha.

What are some of you guys favorite concealers??

Smashbox On The Rocks Be Legendary Lipstick Trio

Hey guys!!!

I have trying out some new lippies these last few weeks and now I can finally show you guys what they are. My good friend Angie gave me the Smashbox On The Rocks Be Legendary Lipstick Trio for my birthday(thanks girl) and I was so excited to try these out since I have never tried anything from Smashbox before. I almost didn't talk about these products because I thought maybe they were limited edition, but I checked on Sephora's website and the shades are there.

(Left to Right: Primrose, Legendary, and Fig)

This collection from Smashbox actually has both matte finish and hydrating cream finish. This trio is hydrating cream lipstick formula. The website says, "The cream shades are formulated with shea butter for lasting hydration and vitamins C and E to protect, leaving lips feeling ultra-soft with a lustrous finish."

This product is very shiny when you apply it on the lips and it stays shiny the whole time till it fades away. With all 3 of them you only need two swipes for full opacity.

(Left to Right: Primrose, Legendary, and Fig)
(Can you see the shine on these swatches??)

I do have to apply a lip liner before applying these lipsticks because if I don't it will feather a little bit. This only lasts about 3 hours on the lips and I do like that on my lips while it is fading it doesn't fade weird. After 3 hours I reapply and it still looks fine.

I do agree with what the website says. It is really hydrating on the lips the whole time you wear it. This product does feel a little sticky the entire time you are wearing it. If you love long wearing lipsticks or non sticky lipsticks then you will not like these. Also because they are so creamy they can get on your teeth so I always do the finger trick.

Overall I do love these lipsticks more for everyday use or for when I am only leaving the house for a few hours. I do however want to try out the matte formula and see if there is any difference. Now would I repurchase these? I think I might repurchase Fig and Primrose because I already have my top favorite red lippies in my collection I don't need more haha.

Have you guys tried out these lipsticks?? What do you think?? Have you guys tried out the matte formula?? Which one do you prefer matte or hydrating cream formula??

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Hey guys!!!

You guys know my holy grail powder to set my face is Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder. I had purchased the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder before I received the Laura Mercier one since now my skin gets oily in my t-zone and I had it in the back of my collection because I loved the Laura Mercier one so much. Once I ran out of it I decided to pull this out and try it out.

I used two different brushes to apply this product and I prefer using the Real Techniques Powder brush because it is so fluffy and doesn't apply too much product. Even with this brush I have to be careful with the amount of product I put on because it can look very powdery.

I don't like this powder under my eyes to be honest. On me this makes my under eyes crease a lot more even with a concealer that doesn't crease on me at all(which I will talk about soon). It does keep me matte for 5-6 hours before having to apply more. I have my makeup on since 6am and I start getting shiny by noon and I apply the powder during my lunch time. I don't get shiny again till I get back home at 4pm.

One thing I do love about this product is that this is a great powder to travel with and with a loose setting powder like the Laura Mercier it can be very messy.

Overall I do like this powder, but I don't love it. I have very high standards for my powders haha. Do you guys love this powder?? What are some of your favorite drugstore powders??

February Favorites 2015

Hey guys!!!

It is now March and that means it is time for February Favorites. I honestly haven't been motivated to write recently mainly because I have been so exhausted from work. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things because I have lots of things to show you guys. Now on to the favorites:

  • NYC Sunny Bronzer- I have been using this bronzer like crazy. It is a good bronzer for anyone who is starting out with makeup and it will not look dirty too quickly and you can build this up. Good bronzer for doing your makeup at 5am everyday haha.
  • Shaaanxo Colourpop Eyeshadow- I love all 4 eyeshadows, BUT my most used one this month is the shade Deluxe. It is a gorgeous bronze shade and I get compliments everytime I wear this eyeshadow.
  • Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer- I had stopped using this primer to test out another one that I also love and will talk about later. My skin is going crazy right now with the weather and this has helped a lot. I was even starting to get dry patches and this helped with it.
  • Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Gloss- I hadn't been using my lip products during the week and I decided to start doing so. I have been gravitating towards this lip gloss in Mango Tango. It is a pretty orange red and I love using it with any neutral look that I do.
  • NYX Butter Gloss- For the days I been doing bold looks I been using the NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait. This shade is like a sheer wash of color because my lips are pigmented and great for everyday use for me.
  • Jordana Cosmetics 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil- I love this as my everyday eyeshadow base for any color eyeshadow or pigment. The best part it is only $4.
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo- You guys probably tired of me talking about my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink, but I just love it that much. My eye makeup just lasts a lot longer with this product as a base. I always go back to this product.
Those are my February Favorites. What were some of you guys favorites for the month of February??
