May Favorites 2014

Hey guys!!!

I decided to do my favorites of the month of May. I don't know if I will do one every month, but I will try. Now on to the favorites.

  • It's Judy Time Eyeshadow Palette: I recently got the palette and spent most of the month playing around with it. I am in love with this palette and I did a review here.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: In March I bought this product and I didn't start using it till this month. OMG I don't know why I took so long to use it because it has quickly become my holy grail bronzer and also I reviewed that here.
  • Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner in Jet Black: This was my first ever gel eyeliner and it is a lot easier to use than I thought. Only thing is that its not as black I would want it but it is a good gel liner. I reviewed it here.
  • Mary Kay Blush in Shy Blush: I honestly didn't think I would love this blush, but surprisingly I love it. It gives you a beautiful glow. I reviewed that as well here.
  • Mary Kay Nourishing Lip Gloss in Mango Tango: This has been my most favorite lip gloss ever. This one doesn't dry up my lips and I love the color. Once again I reviewed it here.
  • BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready: I love the color of this lipstick. It is a very pretty pink color and it goes with practically every eye look I do. It's basically a my lips but better color. I received it in my Ipsy bag and for it being a sample size it has lasted me quite a while. I swatched and reviewed it here.
  • Maybelline The Rocket Mascara: Ever since I got this mascara I have been in LOVE! What I love about it the most is that it keeps my curl. I spend time curling my lashes I would love it to stay up with mascara right? I am getting sad because it is starting to dry up. My full review on this mascara is here.
  • Jane Cosmetics Eye Primer: I have 3 or 4 different eye primers in my drawer and I have been reaching for this one this month. My shadows lasts all day with this primer. I recommend this one if you are looking for an affordable primer. I reviewed it here.
Okay those have been my most favorite products for May. This was my first time doing this so hopefully you guys enjoyed reading. What are some of you guys favorite products of the month?? I would love to know.

Hey guys!!!

I had gotten this set of nail polishes for my birthday from my friend and of course I was excited cause I am a nail polish addict now. I was planning on reviewing the whole set, but something went wrong. I tried one of the colors and had no problem. Then I tried a pretty green color and when it chipped I noticed something weird.

As you can see the color looks gorgeous. I was in love...

.....BUT is why I hate it!!!!

This is KLEANCOLOR Nail Laquer in the color 163 Metallic Green. This color turned my nails yellow as you can see. This was about a month and a half ago and it is still halfway on my nails. I am still going to try the other colors I got, but I am a little hesitant because of this. My suggestion is if you decide to get this brand DO NOT get this color.

TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray VS L'orealBoost It Blowout Heat Spray

Hey guys!!!

When I first started to use heat on my hair no one ever told me that you need to use heat protection on it and after so many years of not using much on my hair to protect it it's not in the best condition. Once I heard that you must use heat protectant I decided to go with one that has been raved about on YouTube (of course haha) and it is the TRESemme heat protectant. Recently L'oreal came out with a heat protectant spray and I really wanted to try that one out.

I decided to compare these two heat protectant sprays and see if one is better than the other. I got them both at Target, TRESemme I got it last year and L'oreal I got it 3 weeks ago, for $3.99.

Let's start off with the TRESemme one. This was my first time ever using a heat protectant spray so I was in love with the way my hair felt. I was really impressed with how soft my hair felt mostly because this is so cheap and sometimes cheap products don't work on me. Only thing is that the softness doesn't really last if you wait 4 days to wash your hair, but other than that I love it.

Now for the L'oreal one and to be honest there's not much of a difference. This made my hair feel really soft just like the last spray, but this one the softness did last on my hair. I highly recommend both of these if you are looking for an affordable heat protectant spray. They both work just about the same except, like I said, for the duration of the softness feel in your hair and that also depends on how often you wash your hair.

Have you guys tried these products out??? Which one is your favorite?? Do you guys have any other recommendations?? I don't mind trying another one out.

Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss

Hey guys!!!

Have you guys heard of Jaclyn Hill?? If not you have been missing out. She does the best make-up tutorials and recently she had a brush set with Sigma which I missed out on cause I couldn't afford it at the time. Then she announced she came out with her own lip gloss through Whitening Lightning and decided to go ahead and get this one even if it was a little pricey, but I saved up money for it.

See how pigmented that color is?? This is the color Rose Hill and the website says it is a romantic and feminine hue. It is a beautiful rosy red color and I love it!! This gloss is amazing because first it has a mirror on the side. Just remember to remove the sticker that is on top of the mirror, but I haven't done that yet that's why it looks dirty on the picture.

Secondly, when you open this gloss it lights up. So if you need to reapply when you are out and you don't have a mirror and/or you are in a dark place you are covered.

Last but not least, it is beautiful on the lips and very pigmented. I have to do two swipes and it lasts 3 hours on me on its own, but on top of a lipstick its 4-5 hours. It doesn't dry my lips at all and I was happy about that because I have had bad experiences with lip glosses in the past. They just stay a little sticky and I don't mind that. I'd rather have that than dry chapped lips haha.

Overall, I LOVE these whitening lip glosses and I wish I could afford more of the colors. If you are interested in this gloss go here or if you want to see what other colors they have go here. These are $24 plus tax and shipping. Any beauty guru on YouTube that has spoken about these glosses will have a coupon code just go check their description box. Jaclyn Hill's coupon code is jaclyn for 25% off.

NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipsticks

Hey guys!!!

I recently did the Lip Products Addict Tag and I mentioned a couple of NYX lipsticks that I said I will be reviewing soon. I have heard how great NYX products are and I wasn't sure where to start, but thanks to Ipsy I started with the lipsticks and the rest I picked them up from Hautelook.

The color I received in my Ipsy bag is the color 517 Hades. The website says it is a muted brown-pink, but to me it looks more like a browny nude and I don't see any pink. This is the first nude I have ever used on my lips and to me it looks weird since my lips are pigmented I am used to seeing some color on my lips. I always use a pink color gloss to make it a pinky nude.

The next color is 524 Aphrodite. The website says it is a grey-toned violet and I agree. It is a gorgeous color, but it doesn't look good on me. Also it makes my teeth look yellow. This color was a total fail for me.

Next is my most favorite of them all 538 Heredes. The website says its a creamy natural beige brown and I don't know if I agree with that. To me it looks more orange red, I don't know, what you guys think??

Last color is 546 Ceto. The website says it is a shimmery pinky beige and I agree. This is a color I would use on top of another lipstick or even a lip gloss on top because it makes my lips look dead on its own for some reason.

Sorry I couldn't get pictures of lip swatches for some reason I couldn't get good pictures. I use my iPhone for my pictures so I don't always get good quality pictures. Left to right: 524 Aphrodite, 517 Hades, 538 Heredes, and 546 Ceto. So what do I think about these lipsticks?? I actually really enjoy these lipsticks. The formula doesn't dry out my lips at all, very moisturizing, they are very creamy, and if I don't do anything the lipstick lasts about 4-5 hours on me. Once I have to reapply, which I don't mind if I have to, it still looks great. With some lipsticks in the past my lips would look dry and gross after reapplying.

This can be found at NYX website for $4, and possibly at Ulta and Target as well. This line has so many different colors so if you were interested in trying these out there's lots of variety of colors to choose from. Have you guys tried these out?? What do you think?? Did you love the formula of these lipsticks like I do?? What other NYX product should I try next??

BH Cosmetics It'sJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette

Hey guys!!!

If you guys haven't heard or even watched Judy from itsjudytime or itsJudysLife then you have definitely been living under a rock. I didn't know about her up until ThatsHeart did a vlog about her and Judy's meetup and they were promoting their palettes. I already got and reviewed the That's Heart Eyeshadow and Blush Palette so I thought why not get Judy's palette especially since she's one of my top 5 people to watch. I saw it went on sale and I took that chance to get it.

Aren't the shades on this palette gorgeous??! What really drew me in to get this was the purple shades and blue shade. I love that it has her saying under the mirror, "Natural is beautiful, but makeup is glam." This palette has a cream matte color for a brow highlight, transition shade, shimmers, other matte shades, and satin. Now time for the swatches:

OMG I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PALETTE! You see those gorgeous shades?! Swatched all of these shades are very pigmented, but do they perform as great on the eyes?? Most of the shades do. Most of them are just as pigmented as you see on the picture, they blend beautifully, and are very easy to work with. The colors that gave me a little trouble were the purples and blue shade.

Most of the colors I could only use a eyeshadow primer and that's it. The purples and blue I have to use a Maybelline Color Tattoo after my primer which I don't mind, but for some reason on the first purple color I have to use my finger to put it on. When I tried it with a flat eyeshadow brush it wasn't easy to work with and it wouldn't stick on my eye very well. I am sure if you use Mac fix plus or eye drops it would work and look better.

That purple shade might be a stubborn one, but I still love it! Judy did a great job creating this palette and I will be very sad once I start hitting pan on these eyeshadows. Here's a look I created from Judy's tutorial

If you guys are interested on this palette go to to purchase or go to my Luvocracy Collection.

Be a Bombshell The One Stick

Hey guys!!!

Before I started blogging I received about two Ipsy bags and in one of those bags I received the Be a Bomsbshell The One Stick in Flustered.

At first when I got this I had no idea what this was for so I had to look on their website to find out! It is $16 and this can be used as a blush, lipstick, and eyeshadow. I have only used this on my cheeks.

Flustered is a pretty reddish pink with shimmer. The swatch on the picture is a heavy swatch. I wouldn't use this on my lips because of how shimmery this is and I don't feel comfortable using this on my eyelid I don't know why. As for the product on the cheeks I love it. It is really pigmented so you have to be careful with this because if you put too much on then you will look like a clown and no one wants that right?

It is very easy to blend and it gives you a natural blush to your cheek. A little goes a long way so this stick will last me a long while. I have been using this going to work because I don't have time to put on all of my make-up at home so I just take this with me and do it in the bathroom at work. It is very convenient since I don't have to carry a brush and all I need are my fingers.

Ipsy is only $10 a month and if you are interested in signing up just click and sign up.

Premium Cat's Pride Fresh & Light

Hey guys!!

I thought I would do something different and random today. This is time I am going to show something that will only interest all my kitten and cat owners out there. I am sorry if this doesn't interest you, but I will try to post another blog today beauty related.

I had gotten a coupon for this so I decided to use it and this cat litter literally sucks so much. It says Total Odor Control and that is totally wrong. After one day of not cleaning you can smell the piss in the area you have your litter box! Usually whenever you clean the litter all the pee clumps up with the litter and turns into a ball of pee so that makes it easier to clean when you use the shovel. Now with this litter the ball breaks apart making it difficult to clean it so you end up leaving some old pee in there making the area smell worse. I had to immediately go get new litter because I couldn't take the smell anymore. Hope this was helpful to all my cat owners out there.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Hey guys!!!!

I purchased this beauty....

I already reviewed the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer recently and then the Shadow Insurance Primer before I even picked up this sample set! Now on to talk about the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

As always my fav YouTuber Casey Holmes did a First Impression on the mascara and ever since then I been wanting to try this mascara out.

This mascara makes your lashes look amazing. It makes them long and have lots of volume. It actually makes it look like you are wearing falsies who wouldn't want that right??!! Only thing is if you love to do 2 layers of mascara this one will get clumpy. This would have been my new holy grail high end mascara.....BUT it isn't waterproof! My lashes fall back down...such a sad day for me haha. If you don't have stubborn lashes I highly recommend you check this out!

I have been wondering if I should try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat. Has anyone tried this out?? Does it really work?? If it does please let me know. I really want to use this mascara without my lashes falling back down.

The Lip Products Addict TAG!

Hey guys!!!

Amelia and Estee, aka AmelianLiana and Essiebutton, on YouTube created a tag together and I thought why not do it on my blog and have something different on here. You guys should totally check them out!

Best Balm/Treatment?
My very good friend Krystelle recommended me Smith's Rosebud Salve and I been enjoying it. It is not the best one for me, but it is the best one I have tried so far. Whenever I first put it on my lips feel so hydrated and look glossy, but my lips don't stay moisturized throughout the day or even if I put it on at night before bed I wake up with dry lips.

Best Eye-Catching Red?
My favorite red is Rimmel London Show Off Lip Laquer in Big Bang.  It is a very bright red and these are highly pigmented. The formula for these lip laquers are amazing. They last about 3 hours on me before it starts to fade, but they feel moisturizing and most important really do not dry out my lips. They are very easy to apply. More in depth review here.

Best Luxury and Best Drugstore?
Best Luxury- I received this in my Ipsy bag and it is Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie in Get Ready. It is a pretty pink color and it's almost a "my lips but better color" because my lips are pigmented except the lipstick is a little bit more pinker than my lips. It smells soooo good and the formula is amazing. It feels moisturizing and does not dry my lips. This lasts 3-4 hours before it starts to fade. If you are interested in a swatch go here.
Best Drugstore-There are a few I enjoy that I haven't done a blogpost on them yet so I didn't want to show them yet. So I decided to go with my Rimmel London Show Off Lip Laquer in Galaxy. I received this from one of my fav YouTubers, GlamourWonderland, and I can't thank her enough for sending it to me because I fell in love with this product in general thanks to her. It is a pretty shimmery pinky purple color and you can't feel or really see the shimmer on the lips. Go here for full review.

Best MAC Lipstick?
Believe it or not I don't have a MAC lipstick in my collection. I hope to at least buy one soon. Do you guys have any recommendations???

The Most Disappointing?
I had made an order on Hautelook even though I had told myself NO NO NO!!! I had received 3 lipsticks(blogpost coming soon) and the one that disappointed me was NYX Lipstick in 524 Aphrodite. It is a nice plummy color, but when I put it on my lips.....lets just say that it made my teeth look yellow!! I was really hoping to like the color. Full review coming soon.

Liner-Yes or No?
At the moment no. I am interesting in trying out the Milani clear lip liner so I don't have to worry about buying different color liners. Have you guys tried that one?? What did you guys think of it?? Do you recommend any other clear lip liner??

Best Gloss?
I recently did a review on this gloss and many other products. My favorite gloss at the moment is Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango. It is a very pretty orange red and this is the best gloss I have tried so far that will not severely dry out my lips. For full review go here.

Something Extra?
Hmm I wasn't sure what to put for this question, but I decided to go with NYX Lipstick in 517 Hades. I received this in one of my first Ipsy bags before I started blogging. It is a pretty peachy pinky nude and since it is my first nude I am not 100% comfortable with wearing nude so I pair it with a pink lip gloss to make it less nude and more pink. I really enjoy the formula of these lipsticks. Again full review soon..

Thank you for creating this fun tag Amelia and Estee. I had so much fun after a stressful day doing this tag. I was looking through my mini collection and kinda wish I had a couple more haha. Any recommendations guys??

I am tagging a few people to do this tag:
Casey Holmes
AND anyone else who wants to do it!

MKGLam VoxBox Review

Hey guys!!!

I recently received these Mary Kay products complimentary for testing purposes by Influenster and I was so excited!! I wanted to try some out especially I always see my mom always using their skin care and lipsticks!!

You see all the products I got??!! Ain't it exciting??!! My friend Brittany was just as excited as me because she just recently became a Mary Kay Consultant!!!! Well anyways on to the products I received!

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara

I hear great things about Mary Kay mascaras, BUT since this one isn't waterproof I didn't even try this mascara. I need waterproof because if not the curl will fall back down and I don't want that. I will give this away in a future giveaway on this blog.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush

This blush is really gorgeous!! It is a peachy pink with a golden sheen to it. I honestly don't think one needs to highlight their cheekbones when you wear this because it gives you such a beautiful glow and I love it! I feel like this is a dupe to a high end blush, but I can't think of it! (I know I suck haha.)

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush

This brush is amazing to blend out a cream eyeshadow. I used to use my fingers in the pot and then I found out that you could be putting bacteria in there by using your fingers!! Now with this brush I don't have to use my fingers at all and I'm happy about that haha. It also blends out concealer well. I am very happy to have this brush in my collection.

Mary Kay Powder Brush

I use this powder brush to bronze up my skin instead of powder since I already have my favorite powder brush. I am loving this brush, BUT the only thing I hate is that everytime I clean it a lot of the hairs go down the sink. I hate that since now I don't know how long this brush will last me.

Mary Kay Translucent Powder
I am going to start with the packaging. I love the fact that this is actually very travel friendly. Last time I traveled I had to take my other loose powder that I own and its such a mess now I have to be careful when I open it now. This one it actually has a closing top so it won't be messy. Great job Mary Kay on the packaging. Now on to the actual product inside. My make-up lasts all day and I haven't noticed a white cast on my face with this.

Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango

I'm not a big lip gloss fan because in the past a lot of them have really dried up my lips. I was still excited to try it out regardless. I am in loovveee!!! It is a pretty orange red color with some shimmer, but it doesn't really show up when you put it on your lips. It is really pigmented and most importantly for me it doesn't dry my lips even after it fades. This lasts about 2 hours till it starts fading, but that's expected since it is a lip gloss. Maybe if I put it on top of a lipstick it will last longer. I honestly don't mind re-applying whenever it is necessary it's just too pretty haha.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist

I am a big fan of cream eye shadows so when I saw this in the box I was excited to try out a new one!! I love to use cream eye shadows as a base for powder shadows so my eye make-up can pop even more and last even longer. I also used it on its own and it lasted on my lid all day even after going outside with the kids at work. The swatch on the picture doesn't do it justice it's really gorgeous in person. Whenever you use a cream shadow make sure you let it set before you add shadows on top of it. That will ensure that it won't crease throughout the day.

Mary Kay Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium

I am not a huge fan of this bronzer at all and I was really sad I really wanted to love it. The reason I don't love it is because of the shimmer. I am into a matte bronzer, but the only way I will use this is if I use a matte blush otherwise that will be waayyyy too much shimmer going on with this and shimmery blush.

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner in Jet Black

I have never used gel eyeliner so I thought "this is going to be interesting." It came with a little brush, but it wasn't a good one for me to use for gel eyeliner. It was so bad that I lost it haha oops!! It was kinda hard to do at first, but after a second time it was easier. Once this sets on your eyelid it doesn't budge at all and it stayed on all day. Only thing I didn't like was that it is not as black as I would like so I had to put on a second layer to get it as intense as I like it.

Overall I really enjoyed trying out all these products and I hope to one day in the future to try out a couple more products. Here is a look I created with a couple of these products:

Thank you Influenster for giving me the opportunity to try out these products!! I really enjoyed it! :)

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Hey guys!!!

I never ever ever ever used a bronzer or even knew what it was for till of course I started watching YouTube beauty videos. Thanks to my good friend Merlin for giving me a gift card to Sephora I was able to purchase this little sample set.

I am going to do separate reviews for each product and I have already done one for the Shadow Insurance Primer and the others will be coming soon. Today as you already know I will be talking about the bronzer.

I was excited to FINALLY try this since it's really raved about on YouTube. I am always grabbing this and smelling it a lot whenever I am at home haha. It is made out of cocoa powder and it smells like chocolate!!! MMMM!! They only have two shades and I got the shade Medium/Deep. Here's the swatch:

I recently tried a shimmery bronzer and this one and I gotta say I prefer a matte bronzer the best! I only bronze my face with this since I suck at contouring and I don't think I have the right brush for contouring anyways so MAYBE in the future once I have the brush I will try again.

It blends out beautifully, really easy to work with, looks really gorgeous on the skin, and I will definitely be re-purchasing this bronzer in a full size once this one is finished. I realized I won't be able to live without this in my make-up collection even if it is a price I am not comfortable with, but I will still purchase it. THAT'S HOW MUCH I LOVE IT!!! If you never tried this I highly recommend you do. I don't think you will be disappointed.

If you want this set as well it is limited edition and fortunately it is still available at Sephora online and in store. I was there about a week ago and it was still there. It will also be on my Luvocracy collection.
