Why Do I Avoid Fragrance In My Products??

 Hey guys!!!

As I have stated before in a previous post, I don't use skin care and makeup products with fragrance. Why you may ask? I was trying so many popular skin care products that would help acne prone and combination skin and I would notice that at first products would work. After a while it would stop working and break me out. It would be a repeated cycle and I had enough.

As for makeup, I started noticing more and more brands starting coming out with products that contained fragrance. Like for example, a bronzer. Why do you need your bronzer to smell good? Is that really necessary? All I need for my bronzer to do is blend well and make me look bronzed. Don't you?  One time I got a L'Oreal eyeshadow product that had a peach scent and I broke out on my crease. Ever since I pay attention to ingredients in makeup products.

After a couple of years of struggling with my skin, cousin introduced me into the world of fragrance free products and after doing some research I realized that fragrances in products are very irritating to the skin and even if it doesn't show on your skin right away it could affect it in the future.

What are some fragrance ingredients you should look out for? You should look for the word FRAGRANCE/PARFUM and any essential oils. Here are some other examples:

  1. Lemon Fruit Extract (citrus limon)
  2. Linanool
  3. Cinnamal
  4. Limonene
  5. Geraniol
  6. Eugenol
  7. Lavender Oil (lavandula angustifolia)
  8. Rose Flower Extract (rose damascena)
  9. Bergamot Oil (citrus bergamia)
  10. Ylang-Ylang Oil
  11. Lime (citrus aurantifolia or citrus medica)
  12. Orange (citrus sinesis)
  13. Tangerine (citrus tangerine)
  14. Peppermint (mentha piperita)
  15. Spearmint (mentha spicata)
  16. Eucalyptus
  17. Cinnamon (cinnamomum)
There are more irritating ingredients out there for sure I will update the list as soon as I find more.

This is not only for people struggle with acne. This is also for you guys who struggle with eczema, rosacea, and many more. You can aggravate a lot of skin conditions with fragrant products.

Now I will end it by saying if your products with fragrance works for you then keep using it. I just wanted to spread some awareness for those who struggle with sensitive, acne prone skin and you have spent a lot of money on products and nothing has worked.

Most importantly, if this still doesn't help your skin issue and you are able to, you should visit a dermatologist.

Rose and Ben Beauty Brushes

Hey guys!! I haven't done a beauty post in a while and I was in the mood to do one because I am very excited to talk about these! I started follow Rose on IG roseandben  thanks to my friend and I have been loving her content. You can see the passion she has for makeup. I love that she posts on IG stories almost everyday doing a tutorial or talking about her fav products.  I have actually purchased and few of her recommendations and 99% of the products I have bought have become staples in my collection.  When she announced she was coming out with a brand  Rose and Ben Beauty  I just knew it would be brushes because she would always be using prototypes in her tutorials. I trusted her judgment in products soooo I bought most of the collection.  Aren't these brushes beautiful?? When I first got the brushes I felt the bristles and they were so soft. The quality of the bristles and even the handles feels so luxurious. I love the color of the handles too. I ...

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Hey guys!!! I saw a review on YouTube on a new mascara and after seeing that I really wanted to try it out. I went and bought the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in waterproof. I LOVE the Maybelline The Rocket mascara and it is my holy grail, but I always love trying other mascaras and see if it is as good or even better than The Rocket.  I really love the wand because I am able to reach the lashes in my inner corner. One important thing to me in a mascara is if the waterproof formula will keep my lashes curled all day without them falling. I am happy to say that my curl stay up all day with this mascara. This is my second Maybelline mascara that I have tried and I am noticing that if I didn't have a good makeup remover it would be really hard to remove.  This mascara gave me a little bit of length and good volume. I like to build up my mascaras and this will make my lashes clumpy after the second coat and I don't like the look.. Sometimes even if I am ...

Nails of the Week

Hey guys!!! I decided to talk about what is on my nails for the week. I will be doing this a couple times a month since I like to change my nail colors frequently! I used China Glaze polish in the color Frostbite and on top i used the Wet n Wild Wild Shine glitter polish. I am not too sure what the name of it is, but it is my favorite glitter polish to use. This was my first time using a China Glaze nail polish, but I was kinda disappointed. I had to apply the color about 3-4 times for it to be this pretty bright color. If you don't have time to sit there and apply this many coats and wait for it to dry I don't recommend this color.  The upside about this nail polish is that it lasts on your nails without chipping. Normally mine start chipping after 3 days because I wash my hands so many times a day since I work with kids. Right now its the 6th day and I only have minor chipping. Maybe I will try another color in this brand soon. You guys have any recommendatio...
