January 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

Hey guys,

When I got on the Ipsy website to check what I was getting this month I wasn't as excited to get it as I was with the last two months. Well this is what I got:

Before I get into talking about the products I want to talk about the make up bag. It is cute right??!! As cute as it maybe when I first got the bag out of the package, I smelled this horrible scent and I wasn't sure where it was coming from. I realized that it was coming from this bag and its unfortunate. I might throw it out because of it!

Back to the products I am going to start with my most favorite product in this bag. This is the Briogeo Don't Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! First of all, lets start with the smell, it smells like vanilla. Secondly, after just using it once, it made my hair feel super soft. I cannot stop running my hands through my hair. Its supposed to help with breakage, but I am not sure if it helps with that. I love that it has natural ingredients like rosehip, avocado, and argan oils. I highly recommend this product. The only thing that sucks is that its kinda pricey. It's $26.

Next product is Faith Aroma Therapy Tahitian Monoi Anti-Aging Sugar Scrub.

This product has a very citrus-floral scent to it. It says that this anti-aging sugar scrub uses fine granules to exfoliate cells, while Monoi Oil increases collagen production, lock in moisture and fight free radical damage for smoother, brighter skin. I used it in the shower on my face and it made my face feel smooth and very moisturized. Only thing I didn't like was that when I rinsed it off my face felt oily and I had to wash my face with soap a couple of times.

Next product is Mojito Lip Balm.

I hate getting lip balms in my bag mainly because my lips are super stubborn and only moisturize with the Carmex lip balm. I decided to
go ahead and try it since I received it in the bag. It has a very gel like texture and I don't like it. Its very sticky and it dries my lips.

Next product is Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow.

The color I received is called Penny. Its a very pretty shimmery copper color. You can use it all over the lid or as a liner. I tried using it as a lid color and it failed for me. I always have bad luck with shadow pencils. It went on smooth, was very easy to blend, and after I did a swatch on my hand I rubbed my fingers on it and it will not budge. My problem with it was that it creased on me. Lesson learned: only use it as a liner.

Last product in the bag is Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads.

To me adding this to my bag was pointless. This is part of a 3-step system and if you are adding this why not add the other 2?! On the back it says to use after using step 1 so I didn't even try these. Actually I might give them to my brother.

Overall I think this month's bag was so and so. It didn't impress me like the last two bags did, but I am glad I got to try out these products. For your information the bag normally doesn't stink.  Its only $10 a month. You get 5 products and a different make up bag each month. Products are normally either full size or decent sample sizes. Rose and Ben Beauty Brushes

Hey guys!! I haven't done a beauty post in a while and I was in the mood to do one because I am very excited to talk about these! I started follow Rose on IG roseandben  thanks to my friend and I have been loving her content. You can see the passion she has for makeup. I love that she posts on IG stories almost everyday doing a tutorial or talking about her fav products.  I have actually purchased and few of her recommendations and 99% of the products I have bought have become staples in my collection.  When she announced she was coming out with a brand  Rose and Ben Beauty  I just knew it would be brushes because she would always be using prototypes in her tutorials. I trusted her judgment in products soooo I bought most of the collection.  Aren't these brushes beautiful?? When I first got the brushes I felt the bristles and they were so soft. The quality of the bristles and even the handles feels so luxurious. I love the color of the handles too. I ...

Battle of the Eye Primers

Hey guys!! I have oily eyelids and I struggled when I was younger with my eyeshadows and eyeliner creasing. At the time I never understood why. I went into sephora a couple years ago with my best friend and asked "how can I stop that from happening?" That's when I was introduced to eye primers. My first ever eye primer was the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I have been testing out 6 different eyelid primers and out of the six only two did not work for me. I decided to do this blog for the people that have that same issue as me and to show you guys what options there are out there in the make up world from drugstore to high end.   I tried the ELF Eyelid Primer, Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer, Mary Kay eye primer, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Isurance, and BareMinerals Prime Time Primer. I'm going to start off with the one that was the worst one out of all of these. It was the Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer. $4.99 ...

Aveeno ultra calming makeup removing wipes

Hey guys!!! I received the Aveeno makeup remover wipes as a gift! Finally I was able to stop using the horrible wipes that I was using before!! These wipes are amazing! They smell so good and everytime I take one out I have to smell it before I use it on my face. They are very moist and they remove most of my face and eye makeup. I always go with a cotton round with another makeup remover no matter which wipes I use just to make sure everything is off. I don't know if they remove waterproof mascara since I am not using one at the moment. Most IMPORTANTLY it did NOT break me out!  I looked online on walmart to see how much it was and it is around $7. I probably will purchase this myself later on down the line.
